Moo Niitani, president of COMPILE◯ announced in his Twitter feed today that Dominon, a previously unreleased game for MSX2 computers, will be available at ProjectEGG on June 22nd.
This could be considered a precursor to Puyo Puyo. It's a very simple puzzle game in which domino pieces fall down from the top of the screen. The objective is to make pieces disappear by chaining them in sequential order (1, 2, 3... or 5, 6, 1...). Despite the simple graphics, it has several digitized voices announcing various events in the game.
It was initially intended to be included in one of Compile's Peach Up! erotic disk magazines, but it was never published.
Dominon will sell for 1,000 yen as a digital download. The version available from ProjectEGG runs under Windows.
@Latok:
So, in 2017, a previously unreleased MSX2 game gets commercially published in Japan? Sore ga totemo suki desu :)
Well, it's a very limited release. The text in the ProjectEGG description explains that they'll sell only 500 copies. Rather than a commercial release, it's more of a curiosity.
But yeah, it's interesting anyway.
